Save on Solar
There’s never been a better time to switch to solar. Green energy is a hot-button topic, and it comes with all the incentives and savings that you’d expect.
Rebates
BC Hydro offer $1 per watt of installed direct current (DC) solar panels for up to:
- $5,000 off Single Family Homes
- $25,000 off Multi-Unit Residential Buildings
- $25,000 off Commercial buildings
They also offer $500 per kWh of installed batter energy storage for up to:
- $5,000 off Single Family Homes
- $25,000 off Multi-Unit Residential Buildings
- $25,000 off Commercial buildings
These rebates can pay for up to 50% off the total combined cost of labour and materials for your solar panels and solar battery installs. And to cover the rest? Canada Greener Homes offers an interest-free loan
Interest-Free Loans
The Canada Greener Homes Loan is interest-free financing for up to $40,000 to be paid off over a 10-year period. The loan was designed for any Canadian that wants a more energy-efficient home or business.
The loan can be paid off over a 10-year period, and the maximum eligible loan is calculated based on the quoted cost of the system you’re having installed and you can get an advance to pay upfront contractor fees. Learn more about it and eligibility requirements on the Canada Greener Homes page.
Switching to solar has never been simpler.
Tax Savings
Did you know BC waived provincial sales tax for alternative energy equipment, including solar panels? That’s 7% off any alternative energy generation and conservation equipment, including solar panels, wiring, and more.
Commercial operations going solar are also eligible for the Clean Technology Investment Tax credit from the Canadian Government, which works out to a 30% tax credit on solar installations and battery storage solutions with some conditions.
Solar in our Service Areas
We offer services, including consulting and advising, engineering and design, equipment procurement, and installation and maintenance, for solar panel and battery systems in all the areas we serve, including:
And the surrounding areas.
Grid-tied Systems
You don’t have to do all solar all the time.
Most urban systems that run on solar energy do it on the grid, which means they’re still connected to BC Hydro. If you don’t generate enough solar power on your own, you can still draw off the electricity available to the rest of your community—with the added benefit of nicely reduced energy bill every month. And if you generate too much electricity to use, you can store it in the energy grid for credits that you can use later.
Off-grid Systems
Total energy independence.
If you’re in a rural area without access to the energy grid or you want to be entirely self-sufficient, you have the option to power your home, business, or industrial facility entirely with solar energy. We can install solar panels connected to a solar battery system that you own and control. Any additional energy you produce will be stored away there for times when the sun isn’t shining.
Living off-grid? Get a low-maintenance, durable roof that can stand up to long years in remote locations.
